Lumpini Park Thailand is the first public park in Bangkok and is a "multi-purpose park" used for various purposes. It offers a variety of recreational activities for the public, including a shady area with large trees, beautiful flower gardens, and a large pond. In the past, the park was also used as a place for exercise and to host events, such as concerts, football games, and other activities. Today, Lumpini Park remains a popular public park where people can relax, engage in various activities, exercise, practice martial arts, listen to music, attend lectures, read books at the library, and sometimes participate in events and activities. The park features several interesting attractions, including the statue of King Rama VI, which was built in 1942 to commemorate the park’s creator. Other attractions include the Smile of the Sun Lawn, a specially designed playground for disabled children, and facilities for people with disabilities, such as ramps, special playgrounds, and parking spots. The Ploenchit Senior Citizen Club is located in the Lumpini Park building and offers a place for seniors to socialize, exercise, and learn new skills, with a revolving stage for performing arts and teaching sessions on weekends. The Lumpini Park Children’s Opportunity Center provides guidance, counseling, and education for young children, while the Lumpini Park public library offers books and videos for visitors to explore. The Lumpini Youth Center offers sports activities and training for children and teenagers, and the Sri Thai Dam Food Center sells food, drinks, water bicycles, and paddleboats. The park also features a Buddhist meditation center, where monks perform daily rituals and teach about Buddhism on the last Sunday of every month. Music performances, both Thai and international, are also regularly held in the park.
